Our favourite Clive Barker sites
- Lost Souls - The Confessions pages of the former Official site have the full text of almost 50 full-length interviews from a wide variety of magazines, newspapers and online appearances, together with many of their exclusive Lost Souls interviews (originally published in newsletters prepared for members of the Lost Souls fan club). The section presenting a wide range of Barker's artwork is a particular favourite of ours and we thoroughly recommend a visit.
- HarperCollins UK - The HarperCollins group has been home to Barker's novels since his signing to William Collins back in 1986, giving him both the space to create freely and the reach that a global corporation can provide. Together with the Voyager imprint and the US companion at HarperCollins.com, they host text and audio excerpts from many of Barker's titles.
HarperCollins US have established an Abarat website, with character bios, an Abaratian Appendix, and an interview with Clive (a Japanese version of this site has also been created).- And rounding off the HarperCollins links here, there's a Clive Barker Books page at MySpace - that's now up and running.
- The Hellbound Web - Tripps, the creator of this legendary triumph of research, retired in early 2003, leaving the site and its excellent bulletin board in new hands. It remains the best place for discussing what might happen next to dear old Pinhead and his buddies.
- That's Clive! - The official site of the German fanclubs, with a comprehensive German bibliography and lots of great images. Taken over and refreshed by Thomas Hemmerich, they have a number of their interviews with Clive online.
- Hellraiser Gallery - José Leitão's regularly updated blog on all aspects of Clive's work.
- The New Yzordderrex - A Russian site full of interesting images and other content put together by the enigmatically named Maestro Sartori.

- Luna7 - From the days of Zehrapushu Inc. right through to the present day with Luna7, Hans Rueffert has been responsible for presenting high quality reproductions of some of Barker's most striking artwork as well as creating the late-lamented Imajica card game. Lately, he has had key involvement with the latest Imajica book re-release, creating its new appendix and, of course, the fantastic range of Abarat giclees. That Imajica re-issue features no less than 16 of Richard Kirk's immaculate renderings of the Five Dominions and those who walk in them. - Codemasters have created both a Jericho flash site with the game demo, puzzles and a wealth of downloadable material. Stay up-to-date with news and access the thriving Jericho forum through their Jericho community website.
- Shadows in Eden - Published in 1991 and edited by Stephen Jones, this superb reference work charts the years of obscurity prior to the publication of the first three volumes of the Books of Blood in 1984, through the period in which Clive Barker produced the remaining volumes of the Books of Blood, The Damnation Game, Weaveworld, Cabal and The Great And Secret Show together with Hellraiser, Nightbreed and Hellbound and became everybody's favourite interviewee. Invaluable. There have been rumours of a second volume several times during the last decade and all we can say is that we'd love you to do it Stephen - and we'd love to help. Seriously.
- Fangoria - The first great champions in the US of Clive Barker's writing and, especially, his film-making. From the article in Issue 51 in January 1986 in which we were invited to "Meet Clive Barker", through the fascinating diary tracing Lord Of Illusions from script to screen, right through to the present day, Fangoria (along with the related Gorezone) has been there every step of the way and remains the mass market magazine for gore-lovers everywhere. The best of their interviews with Clive Barker have been gathered together alongside interviews with Stephen King and published as a paperback called Masters of the Dark. Hats off to Philip Nutman in particular for the articles we all enjoyed and envied him for!
- Pandemonium - Put together by Michael Brown, packed with rare photos and revealing interviews with both Barker and others, this book is great.
- Illustrator I and II - Perhaps the most revealing books of all. Linkages between the creative elements of art, fiction and life are broken down and laid bare by Fred Burke in these two lengthy interview-based books. Hard to find these days but well worth a little effort.
- Cinefantastique - Glossy and informed, this monthly magazine needs no introduction to lovers of fantastic film. Cinefantastique was read avidly by Barker during his formative years, we can do no more than recommend others do the same today.
- Shivers and Starburst - Taking over the mantle of responsibility for horror from its sister magazine Starburst in June 1992, Shivers continues to represent the UK in reporting intelligently to a mass market from the leading edge of fantasy and horror. Starburst back issues form a fascinating record of Barker's development since the access the magazine and its writers - particularly Alan Jones - gained to Barker's enclave before his move to Los Angeles is almost without parallel.
- Dread - The magazine of the first Official Clive Barker fan club (The Breed) folded in 1993 after 12 issues and two specials, but up to that time often contained must-have information. Michael Brown, the editor, was also responsible for Pandemonium and Lost Souls rose from the ashes of the Breed's pen-pals listing, courtesy of Cheryl Bentzen and Stephen Dressler. Find those back issues....
- Samhain - Britain's longest running horror film magazine until it all went quiet a few years ago, Samhain was a leading source of authoritative comment. "Consistently worth slaughtering your Grandmother for!" raved Melody Maker...
- Fear - A UK magazine that blazed brightly in the late 1980's through the early 1990's. Packed with genre news and features, it never failed to satisfy and is great to go back and re-read cover to cover.
- Shock Xpress also disappeared suddenly one year in the early 90's amidst the bloodbath of other independent UK titles. Again back issues are a good read.
- Thanks to Ed Martinez, we've finally laid hands on a complete set of Coenobium, the excellent Hellraiser fanzine. Do yourself a favour - contact Ed at edwardamartinez@sbcglobal.net or at 1405 B Street, Hayward, CA 94541 - Ph (510) 886-6470 - and get yourself some copies too.
Any Barker related information gratefully received, especially listings and/or full text, audio or video of articles and interviews we've not got listed on the Interviews page. All best wishes and happy hunting from Revelations !
