Alan Plent - An Inspiration

...Clive was extremely saddened to hear the news this week that Alan Plent, his former art teacher, has passed away. Far more than just a teacher to him, Alan Plent has remained in Clive's heart as perhaps the sole most important influence on his artistic endeavours. Whilst Clive studied at Quarry Bank in Liverpool, Alan gave him enormous encouragement - recognising that there was true artistic talent behind the comic strips drawn for his classmates - and it was this encouragement that remained with Clive as he more seriously turned to painting some years later. Clive would like to pay his respects here to a man who he recognises had the greatest of effects on his life and to whom he owes a great debt of artistic gratitude...
